Bucketfuls of help from BPH

HUNDREDS of thirsty cyclists were grateful to iPSL volunteers who gave up their day to help at the annual Cycle for Cynthia fund-raising ride. BPH Team Managers Phil Smith, Gavin Mason, Ella Auburn and her husband Pete volunteered to man the busiest feed station of the race, providing refreshments and encouraging riders tackling the longest 25 and 50 mile routes. “We are so grateful for the support of iPSL people. The reason many cyclists are so keen to come back year after year is they have such a good experience and that is largely down to our volunteers,” says Cynthia Spencer Hospice FPhilundraising Manager John Helm. He also praised the response to a call for very good quality clothing and bags for the charity’s two Northampton shops. “We asked everyone at iPSL for one new or nearly new item and were absolutely delighted with the generous response.” Yet more volunteers, who shook buckets at a performance of Gala of Magic at Northampton’s The Derngate Theatre in Northampton, raised around £600 for the Hospice. BPH people have also shared funds raised through cake sales and a tombola to support Cynthia Spencer, Age UK and Kids Aid. “We are really pleased to see people stepping up to volunteer and give generously to our good causes,” says HR Manager Rebecca Noad.
