Bring on the development opportunities

ChelmsfordCHELMSFORD’S raft of new work has sparked off new development opportunities too. They include a new role for David Roberts (above), who became Ops Expert a year ago. “It has been an exciting challenge,” he reports. “There has been a lot to take on board and constant change trying to ensure everyone is multi-skilled, but it’s great to have the security of the extra work coming in,” adds David, who heads up a team of eight. “I really landed on my feet when I was asked to lead this team. From day one they’ve been great.” After joining straight from school 15 years ago, David has enjoyed taking on a variety of roles. “Clearings has changed so much, from being completely paper-based when I started. The job never stands still and there’s always something new to learn. That’s the fun.” Acquiring additional skills has been a real eye-opener for Sophie Barnes (also above) who joined as an agency Processor 18 months ago. “Kappa is a great tool and it’s fantastic we can deliver a better service for our customers and stay one step ahead of the fraudsters. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills as I like the variety of tackling different jobs throughout the day,” says Sophie, who came to the role fresh from gaining a BA in History and only has experience of retail work in the past. “I feel that I’ve really grown as a person at iPSL as this is a very serious and responsible job,” she adds. “I love the challenge and am really looking forward to learning the new work. Bring it on!”
