It’s now or never

A Chelmsford star is all shook up as he makes plans to swap his iPSL Team Manager role to become the king of rock and roll.

After 44 years in the business, Kevin McKean reckons it’s now or never as he banks on a new career as an Elvis impersonator.

“This is my golden opportunity to give it a try. I’ve been doing Elvis impressions for years just for fun, but this is my chance to see if I can turn professional,” he says.

“People have always said I should have had a career in showbiz but I got sidetracked into working for Lloyds and then iPSL for all these years. Better late than never.”

Multi-talented Kevin is used to the spotlight having sung in numerous shows for his local operatic society. Now he is hard at work honing his Elvis act for his first solo stage appearance.

“I’ve got the costume, a mic and I’m practising my moves in front of the mirror. Once I feel confident in my act then I’ll go for it.”

His first gig may be at a rock and roll night in the local pub or an Elvis tribute evening at a local restaurant.

“Work colleagues know I do Elvis impressions but they’ll be surprised to hear through Cheque In that I’m actually going to turn pro. Hopefully they’ll come and cheer me on.”
