Lin’s run in memory of sister

SueWHEN Bootle’s Lin Verburg took part in the Race for Life in June, it took on even greater significance for the Rem Days Process Manager. In previous years she has always run it with her sister Sue, but this time she was joined by her two nieces and another family member for an event that was especially poignant. This year’s Race was three days after the first anniversary of Sue’s death. “We always did it together,” says Lin, who was delighted to raise about £650 through sponsorship from work colleagues, friends and family. “She had had breast cancer for 15 years and it came back two years ago. “It’s always a very poignant day for the people who are there, because they’ve all lost someone or been affected by cancer. This year I did it as a memorial to Sue.”
